Arabis hirsuta var. adpressipilis, Rock Cress, (Cruciferae, the Mustard Family), 2-8 dm in height, white floral rays, habitat: woods and hillsides, in calcareous regions throughout most of U.S. and Canada (102, 103).

It is known to produce thioglucosides (238).

Arenaria lateriflora

Arenaria lateriflora, Sandwort, (Caryophyllaceae, the Pink Family), 5-20 cm in height, white floral rays, habitat: open woodlands and rocky places or damp thickets around northern U.S. and Canada (102, 103).

Sandwort is known to produce pinitol, which when extracted and purified is a white, crystalline inositol derivative, C7H14O6, originally obtained from the resin of the sugar pine Pinus lambertiana (238).
