Athyrium filix-femia, Lady Fern, (Polypodiaceae, the Polypody Family), 4-9 dm in height, no floral rays, habitat: moist woods, meadows, and stream banks (102, 103).

It is known to produce p-aspidin C25H32O8, albaspidin C25H32O8 (Polystichalbin), margaspidin, methylenebisaspidinol, and desaspiden C24H30O8 (Rosapin) (97, 169, 171).

It is known to produce thiophenes (12-13 Carbons), 5-methyl-5'-butadienyl-2,2'-dithienyl, acetylenic hydrocarbons, and alcohols (238).
